Welcome to Barb Millar Training

I have been lucky over the last 20years (plus) to have been part of the many fantastic events as both a participant and organiser. For me, it has always been about the connection with people, the encouragement, the fun, the challenge and the learning about the how & why. As a qualified trainer and coach I am passionate about sharing my experiences and knowledge to encourage women of any age or ability to believe in themselves and include activity and fitness as part of their life.
Everybody is capable of being active and experiencing the thrill of achievment. The secret is blending everything that your life is now with a level of training that builds your fitness and strength in a fun way making fab friends, creating great memories and expriences along the way.
You are welcome to come along and join us at any of the weekly group training. These are for every one at any fitness level. Please do not stay away because you think your are not fit enough, not fast enough etc. We are normal women that just love to be active and challenge ourselves a little. Although these sessions are not officially coached, myself and the rest of the team are always happy to give tips and advice.
These sessions are completely free and are all about encouraging you to make a regular committment to yourself to add small steps every week, meeting other fab women, fixing the problems of the world and most importantly coffee.
If you are wanting individual coaching to know where to start, how to build or want to increase your strength with specific training designed for you then contact me for details and to start your amazing journey.

Entering events is a great way to focus your motivation. My mantra is always, never think you are not fit enough, not fast enough, not an "athlete" There are so many events that are achievable, gives you the goal to motivate you to add "training" and activity to your days & weeks, gives you a nudge to take on a challenge and so much more. Every event is a different experience. And I say borrowing the famous Nike line - Just do it. events in ÅŒtautahi Christchurch and the wider South Island
I have collated a spreadsheet calendar of events for 2025 and 2026 (click on the headings above to link to the main spreadsheet) each event has a links to their websites. The events are mainly Christchurch & Canterbury with some events further away that I know are worth a weekend away.
If I have missed an event that you know of send me an email with the event website and information.
Any event not highlighted in yellow on the 2026 calendar has not yet confiremed dates and I have based it on the 2025. Any of these dates may change soon.
If you would like my opinion on an event that you are interested in email me on info@barbmillartraining.co.nz
